Both servers have to belong to the same domain or workgroup.

Can you connect to your Analysis Services database using a UDL?

On your web server:

Start > Programs > Report Portal Application Setup > XMLA for Analysis Setup > Create UDL.

OK...

1) Your server (olap and web) must be into the same domain;
2) <ServerName>Server 1</ServerName>
es. <ServerName>SRVERSQL2005</ServerName>

ok???

Thanks.

Firts: Your server (olap and web) must be into the same domain; or it must to have relationship trust.
A server must trust another one.

You Database server must be seen only through the local connection from IIS.
The Server Name in msmdpump.ini must be
<ServerName>Server 1</ServerName>

my problem is to shape IIS that heads for the Private Server… does NOT succeed… Thanks.

Ok, therefore I must shape two IIS, one on the private server and one on the public server… and editor the msmdpump.ini,
so <ServerName>http://secondmachine/olap/msmdpump.dll</ServerName>???

Hi,

Please visit:
http://www.sqljunkies.com/WebLog/edwardm/

Here you will find documentation regarding XMLA / firewalls etc.

In any way you should add the XMLA on the privat server and in ReportPortal add a connection to the server and make an OLAP report based on the new connection.

I do not succeed through Public ReportPortal, to approach OLAP private Server… How I can make? Thanks…

INTERNET --->> SERVER PUBLIC REPORTPORTAL ---->> MY LAN (OLAP PRIVATE)

Thanks…

Hi,

Can you connect from ReportPortal (Public) to the OLAP server (Privat) or are you not able to connect to the ReportPortal from teh internet ?

Internet URL for OLAP for Internet based on Statistics from city of Rotterdam in The Netherlands with use of ReportPortal:
