My configuration: SQL Server 2005 (Server 1) web serveur-ReportPortal (Server 2).
Server WEB 2 is public, Server 1 is private. My problem is to succeed to create OLAP Report through Server 2 from a public address… I do not succeed to us… you can help me? Thanks. |

Hi,
Can you connect from ReportPortal (Public) to the OLAP server (Privat) or are you not able to connect to the ReportPortal from teh internet ?
Internet URL for OLAP for Internet based on Statistics from city of Rotterdam in The Netherlands with use of ReportPortal: http://213.160.249.87/reportportal/login.aspx
Best regards, Marco Groeneveld www.gmsbv.nl

Hi,
Please visit: http://www.sqljunkies.com/WebLog/edwardm/
Here you will find documentation regarding XMLA / firewalls etc.
In any way you should add the XMLA on the privat server and in ReportPortal add a connection to the server and make an OLAP report based on the new connection.

Firts: Your server (olap and web) must be into the same domain; or it must to have relationship trust. A server must trust another one.
You Database server must be seen only through the local connection from IIS. The Server Name in msmdpump.ini must be <ServerName>Server 1</ServerName>

OK...
1) Your server (olap and web) must be into the same domain; 2) <ServerName>Server 1</ServerName> es. <ServerName>SRVERSQL2005</ServerName>
ok???
Thanks. |

Can you connect to your Analysis Services database using a UDL?
On your web server:
Start > Programs > Report Portal Application Setup > XMLA for Analysis Setup > Create UDL.

Both servers have to belong to the same domain or workgroup. |
