Hello,

i have some problems with authentication:

at first my configuration

- Server 2003
- Reportportal (Build 146) and SQL Server 2000 on the same server.

Security:

Enable pass-through authentication to get single login
Nt Usergrupps to get the reports and folders
xmla with basic authentication:
NT - roles on the SQL Server 2000 Analysis Cubes

I think this is the best way to have the best security, use and the administration is decentral

so all is fine but:

when i want to open a report i get a dialog where to need to authenticat

I think this is the Problem from XMLA ?!
I checked in reportportal -> security -> Enable pass-through authentication (Test):
Test brings me the right user and all is ok - but the connection to the datas dont know the user.
After the authentication all connections (design reports ...) are ok.

My Question, what i need to do, to have single login to the datas and reports and connections
must i use SQL Server 2005 ODB ? ... (because basic authentication - xmla)

Is there a other way ?

Have you tried to set the NT User ID and password for the user that tries to view the report? (admin > users).

this is not a good idee, because the user must change there password every 90 days.
So i need the pass- through and get the authentication from the nt group.

The user can change his password by going to Design > Update User Info. Moreover, Windows and Mixed security modes synch up the passwords for you. (Admin > Settings > Security tab > Security Authentication Mode = Windows or Mixed)
