Hi,

This can be done very easy withing ReportPortal as admin. You can add connections to any other SQL database or OLAP database on or outside of the server based on SQL Server Analysis Services 2000, 2005 or 2008.

Hi,

In ReportPortal > Admin > Connections > Here you will see the default ReportPortal SQL and XMLA Connection. You can add here any other connection to a SQL or XMLA Database by adding the connecion string.

Hi..

I am new to RP, and I have the exact situation. I need to re-confgure an existing report portal ver 1.8 which is currently pointing to a SQL 2000, to SQL 2005.

I followed your instruction but which one do I need to choose, XMLA or SQL. I have installed a newer version of RP on the SQL 2005 box.Can you advise please?

Bob

Hi,

For SSAS 2000 use:

xmla/msxisapi.dll or:
http://MyOtherServer/xmla/msxisapi.dll

For SSAS 2005 use:

xmla2005/msmdpump.dll or:
http://MyOtherServer/xmla2005/msmdpump.dll or:

ReportPortal/OLAP/XmlaProxy.aspx?url=http://MyOtherServer/xmla/msmdpump.dll&id=user1&pw=password1

Best regards,
Marco
