 not able to setup XMLA

i am using Report Portal 2.1 on windows XP (sp2) and SQL server 2005, and i am not able to proceed in the step for XML setup, whenever i test it gives me the errors:

"TestXmla:The remote server returned an error:(500)internal server error"

on clickin OK on this dialog, further following error comes:
Could not connect to XMLA service : http://MYSHEC59621d/xmla/msmdpump.dll. Please check user id and password, restart iis and try again.

any help?

Hi,

do you installed SQL SErver in the "Mixed Mode", if not, then do that!

yes, its in mixed mode only

Can you connect to Analysis Services using the UDL?

when i give the name of my server and test the connection it gives error

Is it the UDL Dialog that gives you the error? What does the error say?

earlier i was giving the full instance name in the udl i.e. myshec59621d\sql and it was not working, but now when i just gave the server name i.e. myshec59621d(my system name) its working fine.


now whnenever in design --> olap i click on connect to cube i m getting following error --> "Errors xfaultcode->Server xfaultstring->Unknown server error xfaultsoap->"

On your web server go to:
Programs > ReportPortal > Application Setup > XMLA Setup

I have exactly the same problem with xmla configuration for SQL server 2005.

1) Type the URL for msmdpump.dll in you browser. Make the error visible in the Internet Explorer go to: Internet Explorer > Tools.. > Internet Options > Advanced Tab > Uncheck "Show Friendly Error Messages".

2) Please check your windows event log.
