Hi,

because of security problems in SQL Server 2000 i use now SQL Server 2005.

RP worked very fin with 2000 and it was very easy to get a connection to OWC.

Now I installed 2005 and RP 2.1 build 100, all things works fine but i am now not able to get a connection over OWC.

I dont use the AS Security. All default settings after setup are in use.

I changed only ADMIN-->Settings-->OWC-Settings : http://<myserver>/demo/msolap

HTTP:
If i try to"connect to cube" Following Internet-Explorer Error message appears:
1.)
Row 168
sign 3
code 0
url:connect.aspx

if i click YES then the second error appears .
2.)
row 20
sign 1
code 0
url:connect.aspx

HTTPS:
If i connecto over https,
i am able to see the Pivot-table but i cant connect to a cube!
The Error message in pivot-tabele said:"Their are no more error messages from data provider"

What can i do, to use owc?

Hi,

I didn't install any special msolap and with Windows 2003 Server, MS SQL Server 2005 Developer and RP 2.1 build 100 OLAP was working in a direct way. Maybe you should delete the msolap in admin setting. By the way did you changed the security of server/demo in IIS Windows 2003 Server is working different and maybe you don't have access t this folder.

Can i visit your RP on internet ?

Hi,

Did you install the needed software components on the client to have access to SSAS 2005. It is different than with SSAS 2000.

Hi Sefer,

You need on any client:
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services 9.0 OLE DB Provider

You can download this free from the SQL Server 2005 Feature Pack:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=d09c1d60-a13c-4479-9b91-9e8b9d835cdc

Don't forget to download also: Microsoft Core XML Services (MSXML) 6.0

Regards, Marco

What does the connection dialog has in the “Sever” dropdown?

Try testing the connection to your server using a udl file. Just create a test file on your desktop and rename it to test.udl. Double click test.udl. Under the provider tab choose: OLEDB Provider of Analysis Services 9.0 and test the connection

Hi,

in the following screenshot you can see the connection string:
http://sefer-derya.de/download/connection%20string.JPG

OWC-Translation:
The query could not executed!
Systemfailure:"The given host is unknown""

The test with test.udl works fine from desktop to server over OLEDB AS 9.0 and string "http://sefer-derya.de/xmla/msmdpump.dll"

What shall i do?
