I am experiencing problems trying to get the XMLA virtual directory working properly.

I am installing on a Web Server talking to another server which hosts Analysis Services.

The OS on both machines is Windows Server 2003 x64 with SP2 installed.

The SQL Server / AS version is 2005 with SP2 (3042) 64 bit

When I try setting up a UDL connection it correctly offers the valid choice of AS databases but when I test the connection I get the following error…

Test connection failed because of an error in setting the window handle property. 0x80040e21

When I select “Yes” to continue with the test connection I get the following response…

Test connection succeeded but some settings were not accepted by the provider

TIA

Hi Marco

xmla/msmdpump.dll

When I try Test I get the following response...

Error: The following system error occurred: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.

Hi,

Did you tried to use also:

XMLA Proxy (OLAP/XmlaProxy.aspx) - XMLA Proxy page reposts data to another web service. To use the proxy page you could use the following URL in the admin > connection page:

ReportPortal/OLAP/XmlaProxy.aspx?url=http://MyOtherServer/xmla/msmdpump.dll&id=user1&pw=password1

Please try to copy files from: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.2\OLAP\bin\isapi
To: C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\xmla
