I wanted to install ReportPortal 3.0, Build 160, Jan 3, 2009 on the following system: - Windows Server 2003 - IIS 6.0 - ASP.NET 2.0, ASP.NET 3.5 - SQL-Server 2005: the SQL server is located on another machine - not on the Windows Server 2003
After the installation process when I want to access the ReportPortal Site I get the following errror in the webbrowser(Internet Explorer):
Server Error in '/' Application.
The resource cannot be found. Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.
Requested URL: /ReportPortal/login.aspx
Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:2.0.50727.3082; ASP.NET Version:2.0.50727.3082
--- I also tried to install XML for Analysis Service explained in the RP manual but I cannot acces the http://myMachine/olap/msmdpump.dll file. I get an 404 error.
Can anobody help ?
Thanks for any hints

In my last posting I forgot to mention, that I just tried the solutions explained in the FAQ http://www.reportportal.com/FAQ.asp under q:The Report Portal does not seem to work under Windows Server 2003.
But I still get the the same error: Server Error in '/' Application. ....
Maybe it ist a problem that the sqlserver serving the ReportPortal database is not installed on the windows 2003 server where IIS 6.0 is installed ?
Thank you

Hi,
Did you get no errors during installation ?
Is the ReportPortal SQL Server Database also installed on the other server ?
Did you test in IIS Admin if ReportPortal is added as it should be with the right user authorisation and Asp.NET version ?

Hi marco, thank you for your suggestions. You can see my response below.
>Did you get no errors during installation ? I got no errors. At the end of the installation process a success message and after clicking finish the readme page was displayed.
>Is the ReportPortal SQL Server Database also installed on the other server ? Yes the ReportPortal SQL Server Database is also installed on the other server - is this a plroblem ?
>Did you test in IIS Admin if ReportPortal is added as it should be with the right user authorisation and Asp.NET version ?
As far as I can check it, ReportPortal is existing in IIS Admin as website, and has read, run scripts and execute rights.
Web Service Extensions - ISAPI Extensions allowed - Active Server Pages allowed - ASP.Net v2.0.50727.3082 allowed I also checked the ASP.Net version for ReportPortal - it is set to 2.0.50727.3082
Unfortunately, I am still not able to get ReportPortal running. |
