There can be a big delay between requesting an Excel/CSV export and the display by Windows of the prompt to open the report. This is due to many such reports being large OLAP data extracts.

While the export routine is running, a progress indicator would be helpful. If possible a percentage completion bar, or an animated cursor would suffice, either would alert the user that a process is under way. At the moment they see a non-responsive, apparently frozen web page.
