i have ReportPortal 3.0, Build 162, May 1, 2009 installed on Windows 2003 i am unable to configure email on the server.

giving error message

Cannot get IIS pickup directory.; The server rejected the sender address. The server response was: 551 This mail server requires authentication before sending mail from a locally hosted domain. Please reconfigure your mail client to authenticate before sending mail.; Cannot create ActiveX component.

Cannot get IIS pickup directory.; The transport failed to connect to the server.; Cannot create ActiveX component.

In your particular instance, your SMTP server does not requires SSL and is not using IIS Pickup Directory. This kind of setup is now supported by build 163 (http://www.reportportal.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1264).

Please uncheck this option:
Admin > Settings > Email > Use IIS Pickup Directory

i am using mailenable smtp server.

settings are simple as i have given the smtp ip in the SMTP Server
Port 25
User Name
Password

Are you using local SMTP server? If no, what settings (server name, port number, SSL) do you use?
