Posted - 06/16/2009 : 10:04:24 i have ReportPortal 3.0, Build 162, May 1, 2009 installed on Windows 2003 i am unable to configure email on the server.
giving error message
Cannot get IIS pickup directory.; The server rejected the sender address. The server response was: 551 This mail server requires authentication before sending mail from a locally hosted domain. Please reconfigure your mail client to authenticate before sending mail.; Cannot create ActiveX component.
Cannot get IIS pickup directory.; The transport failed to connect to the server.; Cannot create ActiveX component.

Posted - 06/24/2009 : 19:38:04 In your particular instance, your SMTP server does not requires SSL and is not using IIS Pickup Directory. This kind of setup is now supported by build 163 (http://www.reportportal.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1264).
Please uncheck this option: Admin > Settings > Email > Use IIS Pickup Directory |

settings are simple as i have given the smtp ip in the SMTP Server Port 25 User Name Password |
