I created a XMLA connector as explained in the microsoft support pages for XP and i used rex (light weight ASconnector) and i am able to lookup all the cubes in my AS. I am using the same http://Local/olap/msmdpump.dll that i used in the rex but the XMLA sample is not connecting. my report portal installation fails as it cannot connect to the DB. could you please help me how can i get reportportal installed and working.

During installation of ReportPortal the Setup program is asking for the Database Servername, User and Password.

Did you added here the server name as you see in Management Studio ?

Just uninstall ReportPortal and install ReportPortal and all should be working. Asp.Net 1.1 is needed by the way if you didn't have it already installed.
