Hello,

I would like to see in Report Portal a functionality to create report shortcuts in the tree menu. I know I can already do that by adding an Hyperlink report pointing to the report I wish to create a shortcut for, but it would be much nicer if you would have a "shortcut" option by right clicking on any report on the list (like you have "move" and "copy"), and that shortcut would keep the same icon than the report it is pointing to (with maybe a small arrow indicating it is a shortcut, like for windows shortcuts).

Is that something you could include in any future RP builds ? Many thanks.

Regards,
François

Hi,

Why would you use a shortcut in the report tree ? You can save any report as your own report is this not working as you would like to see ?

Hi Marco,

the purpose here would be to be able to access the same report at several places. Let's imagine I am having two folders in the report tree: one for our "Purchasing team", another one for our "Sales team", and I would like them both accessing the same report; I could copy it, but that would mean if I change it later, that I will have to pay attention to modify both copies. With that shortcut, I just need to modify the original one.

Regards,
François

Hi,

Maybe it is more easy to have 1 report and have access by different departments to or not to folders and reports.

If I understand Francois correctly, he is asking for the ability to centrally create a report and publish to multiple folders. I too have this same issue where, based on permissions, the same report needs replicated but I only want to make the change in one place. Since certain users can't access the location where the original report "lives" they must receive copies of it.
