Hi,

I have just installed a demo of the software and managed to get it installed on a Win 2003 server with IIS 6 and ASP.NET 2.0 installed. I have created a new web site and app pool for the application.

The login screen comes up fine and allows me to login but once I select a function, for example, Design -> Olap Report and then click on "Connect to cube", I get the html of a HTTP 404 response but its displayed inside an alert (messagebox). I have checked the Application and System logs on the server but no entries have been made. Nothing appears in the IIS logs either. Analysis services is running fine on the same box with a prebuilt cube that is currently in use.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

John.

"HTTP 404 - File not found" error suggests that IIS is configured to block the XMLA ISAPI DLL.

Please enable ISAPI extensions for XML/A to work.

Here is Microsoft's white paper that could be useful:

Hi,

During installation of ReportPortal there is the question if you would like to install XMLA for SSAS2000, SSAS2005, SSAS2008 or nothing.

Which options did you choice ?

If it is SSAS2005 than you have a XMLA connection: xmla/msmdpump.dll

Please test in IIS if you have Integarted Security on for XMLA, .Net 2.0 is used for XMLA and if in IIS XMLA is allowed to be executed.

If you restart IIS than the connection should be ok.

You can test in ReportPortal : Admin > Connections > XMLA

Let me know if it is wokring or you have still a problem.

Best regards,

Marco
